| Tasha, The Third Place 2007 Obama Dog |
Owner: Jennifer
Dansby Colorado Springs, CO 80918
Tasha is a spicy, 13-year old dog from Puerto Rico. She was just 4 pounds
when found by a dumpster. For the longest time she was referred to as a “garbage
dog.” Now she is called a Whipingo. Part Whippet and part Dingo. Jennifer says, “You should see the
looks I get when I tell people that.” Jennifer was serving our country with the Navy in Puerto Rico when this
little darling entered her life. Tasha is the sweetest and most loving friend anyone could ask for. She is gentle,
kind, sweet, spicy, fast and funny. You really couldn't ask for a better friend. Tasha now lives in Colorado where
she loves to go on hikes, camping and riding in the car. She even likes the snow despite her Puerto Rican roots. When
asked what she thought of becoming an official Obama dog Tasha said "Woof." Jennifer learned of puppies4obama.com when a friend
forwarded her the link to the contest. The friend is volunteering as a precinct captain for the caucus. Jennifer says “We thought it would be
a great way to show support.”

| Nigel, The Fifth Place 2007 Obama Dog |
Owner: Zina Siddiqi
Porter, IN
Nigel is a 20 month old male Chihuahua,
born and raised in the Hoosier state. Although he is very loyal to his Mom Zina,
he loves meeting new people and makes lots of friends wherever he goes. He is
always ready to go for a car ride, especially if it includes a stop at a drive-up window.
Nigel loves to eat raw veggies and fruits as snacks. Have you every seen
a dog go crazy for fresh broccoli, tomatoes, carrots and celery? Nigel is Zina’s
first dog and is a wonderful companion. Zina was born and raised on the Southside
of Chicago in the Hyde Park neighborhood. She
earned a doctorate in physical therapy and now lives and works as an office manager in Indiana. Although no longer living in Chicago,
she still considers herself a Hyde Parker. Many years ago, she had heard of Barack
Obama working as a community organizer on the Southside, so by the time he ran for the Senate, she was very comfortable voting
for him.
