It takes money to compete in the presidential campaign arena. Once a candidate has proven him /herself in the
primaries and receives the party nomination they become elgible for party financial backing. Until that time they are on their
own to raise funds for commercials, signs, bumper stickers, etc. Barack Obama, unlike his peers Hillary Clinton, Rudy Guiliani,
Mitt Romney, to name a few, does not accept contributions from Federal Lobbyists or Political Action Committees (PACs).
He has made the decision not to accept money from entities who could expect favors in return for cash contributions.
